• A new free article linkbuilding system

February 22nd, 2010 by Henrik Flensborg

I’ve always loved systems; not the guru-type systems where all they do is rehash a technique that’s been working for years and launch it under a fancy name, but systems that somehow automate a normally manual process.

Another thing I like my systems to have is transparency; I like to know upfront what I’m getting into so I can evaluate the potential of the system before handing over my money.

Today I got an email about an article link building system that just immediately clicked with me.

I could see what it did, and the priciples of how my articles and links would be distributed within this article directory network made sense to me.

I’ve yet to put it to the test because I wanted to let you know about it as fast as I could since there’s a chance of getting some nice launch discounts.

Personally I’ve gone for the free version, but they also have a paid version that have some nice features compared to the free version.

I know that I’m not likely to take full advantage of the paid version, but if you’re currently doing a lot of article marketing either through your own writing or through rewritten PLR content, then the paid version might be suitable for you.

I’m currently launching a new niche site, so what better way to test the potential of this linkbuilding / article marketing system.

The only backlinks I have at the moment are from a dozen domain stats pages, and none of them are indexed by Google yet, and only one link is indexed by Yahoo.

So I’m really starting from scratch with my linkbuilding.

The success of an article linkbuilding network lies in its ability to distribute the articles to a wide variety of IP addresses, and doing it gradually so the linkbuilding appears to be normal.

This is especially important for a fresh domain where hundred or thousands of inbound links in a very short time is almost certain to get your site sandboxed.

It’s the perfect scenario to set up a controlled test, so remember to check back later for progress reports.

The link I provided is an affiliate link, but it’s not just like any other affiliate program.

Normally you’ll only benefit if people you refer go for the paid version, but here you also earn link credits from people you refer and people they in turn refer when they post an article.

This is a brilliant twist from a system point of view since this encourages people to spread the word and this in turn helps create the much needed IP diversity.

    Online meeting scheduling

February 15th, 2010 by Henrik Flensborg

tungle-full-mediumPart of running a business is meeting with clients, customers, coworkers, 3rd party consultants, subcontracters etc.

When you have internal meetings you just schedule them with whatever scheduling software you already have in the company.

But when you try to schedule a meeting with someone outside your company then the problem starts because you don’t have a shared environment, a common platform that you both use.

So scheduling a meeting takes plenty of email ping-pong, and if you’re trying to set up a meeting between several participants, then things really gets ugly.

If you’re strugling with setting up meetings then Tungle.me might be the solution for you.

It’s quick to set up, it’s free, syncs with Outlook, Google Calendar, Apple iCal and Entourage, and they even have a neat iPhone/iPod Touch application for it.

StomperNet Presents LIVE 9 Preview Call with Anne Holland

February 11th, 2010 by Henrik Flensborg

Thought you might wanted to know about the preview call with Brad Fallon and Anne Holland over at StomperNet tonight.

What’s worth testing and what’s not worth bothering with?

Which pages on your site to test first vs last.

The personal favorite test Anne ran on a site

Will probably be very interesting, but I’ll personally have to give it a pass since it’ll be 2AM for me.

    Does your blog need CPR?

February 2nd, 2010 by Henrik Flensborg

Don’t you sometimes feel that your blog needs a bit of CPR? – I know this blog and a few of my other blogs needs it.

It’s not always easy to come up with interesting stuff to blog about – sometimes you’re just not in the right creative mindset, sometimes nothing happens in your industry, sometimes you have the ideas but lack the time to properly research the topic.

But Lynette Chandler from BlogEnergizer might have a solution for you.

At the beginning of January I downloaded a neat little free report from Lynette called 12 Buzz Topics – it’s just pages long, and there’s a direct link to the pdf file on the page so you don’t need your credit card nor your emailaddress to get it.

I’ve used some of the ideas on some of my other blogs (not all the ideas apply equally well to my blogs – it all depends on what kind of blog it is).

Lynette also publishes a free weekly newsletter that I receive every monday, except for yesterday where Lynette forgot to press Send ;-) – but I got the email today when she noticed her blunder.

The newsletter is just like the free report; a handful of good ideas, topics and recommended resources.

Today for instance there was a link to Tungle.me – a free resource to schedule meetings and a link to some free workout music (which will come handy for me as well – on another blog) – plus a bunch of other stuff.

Lynette also has a premium membership available but I haven’t looked into that at all – so far I’m just enjoying the free jolt of energy every monday. The topics are so varied that I can easily keep 3 blogs supplied with ideas for at least 2 blog posts per week.

I know that Lynette can’t be the only one out there sharing resources to keep blogs alive, so if you know of similar websites or newsletters then please drop a comment below.

Is your merchant account in danger?

January 23rd, 2010 by Henrik Flensborg

Came across this blog post by Mike Young today: Don’t Lose Your Merchant Account: 7 Free Resources for Helping Internet Marketers Stay Out of Trouble

By now every internet marketer should know about the FTC rules that recently became active that require us all to be upfront about our relationships with people we’re linking to.

Was I paid to write this review?

Do I get a commission if you purchase through my links?

Did I buy the product I just reviewed or was it a review copy given to me?

Add to that the bits about “typical results” and you might think that you’re home free.

But, apparently not – you can have all these new FTC rules covered and still mess up so bad that you could lose your merchant account.

    Ouch.

Turns out that pre-checked checkboxes could get you in trouble when it comes to up-sells, cross-sells and a lot of other billing practices.

I’m not an expert on FTC regulations, so I suggest you head over to Mike’s site to read the full article. There’s also a list of additional resources that you might want to take a look at.
